![]() ![]() Production of the E90 concluded after the 2011 model year, succeeded by the F. Production continued until a facelift revision was made for the 2009 model year. The sedan model was the first model sold of the E90/E91/E92/E93 3 series, being launched on 5 March 2005 for the 2006 model year. The E90 series is larger than its predecessor, with a longer wheelbase, wider tracks, and a roomier interior. Significant cosmetic and mechanical changes were done to improve the design and performance compared to the previous generation. The coupé was introduced in 2006 and the convertible was introduced in 2007, both for MY2007. The range was introduced in March 2005 for MY2005 with the saloon and estate body styles. The design for the fifth generation 3 Series was frozen in mid-2002, approximately 30 months before the start of production. However, the E92/E93 coupés and convertibles remained in production through the 2013 model year, after which they were replaced by the F32/F33 4 Series models. įollowing the introduction of the F30/F31 3 Series in February 2012, the E90/E91 saloons and estates were phased out. ![]() Introduced in 2007, it uses the BMW S65 naturally aspirated V8 engine and was produced in saloon, coupé and convertible body styles. The E90/E92/E93 M3 is the only generation of M3 to be powered by a V8 engine. It was also the first 3 Series to include the iDrive operating system, which consists of navigation, infotainment and essential vehicle functions. The E92 335i was the first 3 Series model produced with a turbocharged petrol engine. Models with run-flat tires are not equipped with a spare tyre. The E9x saw the introduction of run-flat tyres to the 3 Series range. Once in place replace all 8 screws and prior to tightening them ensure that the bumper cover is even, I did this by comparing two of the outermost points. After the new grills are in place, line the metal clips up with the bumper cover, and then slide it back into place.ġ0. *use a microfiber cloth if you don't want fingerprints*ĩ. Now just gently push the new grills into place, run your hand around the gloss black trim piece to ensure all the clips are secured Don't be impatient and pop a new grill in before having both sides removed, it makes more work for yourself.Ĩ. Once the first grill is free of the bumper you can easily access the other grill. Note: the bottom clips are going to require using your hand rather than the screw-driver because they face the ground.ħ. Now using the flat head or pick tool press the release tabs on the grill while gently pulling on the grill from the outside, there are 3 clips on both the top and bottom of the grill as well as 1 clip on each side. Moving away from the center of the bumper allows for more flex, anyone with big hands would probably find it easiest to start on the outside and work inward.Ħ. The bumper cover is flexible to a reasonable extent, allowing for a hand or tool too fit behind the grills. Be careful and make sure to pull straight forward rather than up as there are 4 metal clips which hold the bumper in place which would break.ĥ. Now that all 8 screws are removed, the bumper cover should slide forward. A T20 torx screw is located over each headlightĤ. There are going to be 8 screws (6) T30 torx and (2) T20 torx which need to be removed. Remove the seal, starting at a side will make it easier.ģ.
